With my children and grandchildren rooted here, I’m a true Michigander at heart—though my friends still tease me for occasionally saying “Michiganian.” I’ve embraced everything this region has to offer, especially its passionate sports culture. From the roar of the Lions to the heart of the Red Wings, the ups and downs of Detroit sports have become part of my DNA. I also cheer for both Michigan State and U of M (yes, really!), and I get why lifelong locals are so proud to call this place home—because I feel the same way.
